Episode Description
This week on The Conduct Science Podcast, join Mitch and Tom as they explore both Earth and Resource sciences! The boys start off with some news of the world as per usual relating to measuring the smallest distance ever and CRISPR in action. Then get ready to be introduced to the world of resource science as Mitch explores how science is used to best utilise the natural resources of the world in the most sustainable manner. We explore what Dymaxion Houses are, their advantages compared to normal housing, and why they were never widely adopted. Tom takes a turn at the Earth science section and takes you on a tour of the Antarctic Circumpolar Current… what he claims to be the most important current in the world, and how it impacts the rest of Earth itself. The boys get sucked into a bit of a debate around the current state of the worlds climate action… or lack of it and how we should look to tackle it in the future. Mitch ends the show on Biofouling, should we really spend over $5 billion a year to prevent animals sticking to boats? Find out here! Music: WhiteBatAudio.com
